Celebrating Our Administrative Assistants
Today, we celebrate the people who keep everything running—our administrative assistants.
At Marais des Cygnes Valley, we are incredibly fortunate to have four outstanding individuals who work behind the scenes to support our students, staff, and community every single day.
At the elementary, we are thankful for Jeanie Fine.
At the junior high/high school, we are grateful for Savannah Bean.
At the district office, we appreciate Angie Volkman and Kim Speer.
These ladies are often the first voice you hear when you call, the first face you see when you walk through our doors, and the steady presence that keeps everything moving forward. They juggle countless responsibilities—phones, schedules, paperwork, finances, student needs, and a hundred other things that most people never see.
They solve problems before they ever reach our desks. They keep us organized, informed, and on track. And on more days than we probably admit, they are the ones who help keep the rest of us going.
In a lot of ways, they are the glue that holds our schools together.
What makes them truly special, though, is not just the work they do—it’s how they do it. They care about our kids. They care about our staff. And they take pride in making sure our schools are a place where people feel supported and welcomed.
We are grateful for each of you and the impact you make every single day.

Community Notice
We want to make our patrons aware that the main campus building in Melvern will be closed tonight from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. so the Osage County Sheriff’s Office can conduct training inside the building (does not include the Gym/Ag building).
During that time, there will be several sheriff’s vehicles in and around the school. This is only a training exercise.
We are grateful for the partnership with local law enforcement as they work to strengthen emergency preparedness and help keep our students and staff safe. For more information please visit the Osage county Sheriff's facebook page.
