The Board of Education has posted the agenda for its August meeting, set for August 12, 2020 at 7pm. The meeting will be held at the Melvern commons and will be open to the public. Face coverings are required for all attendees.

REMINDER: JH/HS fall sports will begin practices next week, Monday, August 17th, 2020. Practices will begin at 4:00pm. Contact your coach for further details! All athletes are required to have a physical on file in order to participate!

Reminder: USD 456 is providing masks to students and staff upon arrival.

UPDATE: As a courtesy during these trying times, the USD 456 Board of Education has elected to eliminate select enrollment fees. Class and organization dues will still be collected, but costs like textbook fees and equipment fees have been waived.

REMINDER: Enrollment starts tomorrow! August 5th, 1:30pm-7:00pm and August 6th, 8:30am-12:00pm in each school's gym. Face coverings will be required upon entrance. If you are unable to attend or have questions, please contact your child's school.

PLAN HIGHLIGHTS: All testing/contact tracing/quarantine/isolation measures are determined by an individual's personal health provider and/or the Osage County Health Department. USD 456 serves to assist those entities in the health response to positive cases.

PLAN HIGHLIGHTS: The district has chosen to focus on providing a healthy environment to allow for a beneficial in-person learning experience for our students. As detailed in the plan, remote learning may be utilized individually or as a whole. Questions? Contact us: 785-549-3521.

PLAN HIGHLIGHTS: Multiple health mitigation strategies will be utilized: face coverings, temperature/symptom screenings, strategic hand-washing/sanitizing, social distancing where possible, and surface cleaning/sanitizing measures.

REMINDER: Tomorrow!!!!! Physicals for JH/HS athletes will be performed by Osage Sports & Family Chiropractic on July 23rd, 2020 - 8:00am-11:30am in the old gym. Physicals will be $10, payable upon arrival - first come, first served. Physicals are REQUIRED to be able to participate in ANY school-sponsored athletics.

Today, July 15, 2020, USD 456 received notification that Governor Laura Kelly will be issuing an executive order delaying the start of schools until after Labor Day. The district is currently preparing for the start of school and will continue to monitor this new development. Information and plans will communicated as soon as possible. At this time, summer activities and programs are not affected.
