Today, MdCV was proud to celebrate our student athletes, coaches, families, and community members during the Athletic Banquet. The afternoon was a great opportunity to recognize the hard work, commitment, and accomplishments of our students throughout the year.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to support our athletes. Events like this serve as an important reminder that involvement matters, and that the time, effort, and encouragement poured into our kids makes a real difference.

At MdCV, we know athletic participation does not just happen on its own. It takes families making the effort to get students to practices, games, camps, and summer opportunities. It takes coaches investing their time and energy into helping students grow. Most importantly, it takes a community that believes our kids are worth that investment.

Athletics are about much more than wins and losses. Through sports, students learn lessons that stay with them long after high school. They learn responsibility, teamwork, communication, perseverance, discipline, and how to be part of something bigger than themselves. Those qualities are valuable not only in competition, but also in the classroom, in the workplace, and in life.

In a small district like MdCV, involvement in athletics is especially important. If we want our school and community to remain strong, we need our students here, engaged, and connected. We need them in the classroom every day, and we need them on the field, on the court, and in the gym, growing as students, athletes, and young people.

Strong athletic programs are not built overnight. They are built over time through habits, commitment, and support. Success starts early when kids learn to show up, work hard, encourage one another, and take pride in being part of a team. At the youngest levels, it is not just about winning games. It is about building character, discipline, and a sense of belonging that lays the foundation for future success.

Our students are capable of great things. That greatness comes from showing up, working hard, staying involved, and learning to persevere. It also comes from adults who set expectations, offer encouragement, and continue to push kids toward growth.

Thank you again to everyone who attended today’s Athletic Banquet and to everyone who supports MdCV athletes throughout the year. Your time, encouragement, and commitment matter more than you know. Together, we can continue building strong students, strong athletic programs, and a strong community.
