New 2-Hour Delay Policy

With our first freezing temperatures of the school year, it is time to remind all about the new two-hour delay policy!

If it is announced via app notification, social media, local media, etc., that the district is in a two-hour delay, here is what that means:

-Students are expected to arrive two hours later than their regular start time, or simply put, 10:00am.

-Bus pick up schedule will be delayed two hours. For example, if your student regularly is picked up at 7:00am, your child would then be picked up at 9:00am. Bus drivers will make every effort to be punctual, although road conditions may delay picking up students.

-Parents dropping off students, students who walk, and students that drive to school should arrive no earlier than 9:45 a.m. Teachers and support staff shall arrive at school no later than 9:40 a.m.

-Before school, morning programs and meetings scheduled prior to 10:00 a.m. are cancelled. Students attending morning technical classes will not be transported and will report to school at their customary time after 10:00am.

-Breakfast will not be served on days with two-hour start.

-School dismissal time will remain on regular schedule. All afternoon and evening programs will continue as scheduled unless announced otherwise.

Be aware that in the event a two-hour delay is implemented, it will still be possible that school could be cancelled for that day. In this instance, the decision to cancel school would be made before busses are sent in route to pick up students - approximately 7:30am.
