Unified School District #456 is proud to announce that Marais des Cygnes Valley Middle School will join 56 middle schools in Missouri and Kansas participating in a federal Department of Education grant, titled Supporting Effective Educator Development. The SEED grant program provides funding aimed at developing highly effective educators by providing professional development and resources for evidence-based practices, project based learning, and effective technology integration.

The SEED grant will be headed up by eMINTS at the University of Missouri’s College of Education. eMINTS is a national organization that offers professional development and educational programming to educators across the United States.

This eMINTS SEED project will provide MdCV’s middle school teachers with over 140 hours of professional development and classrooms with numerous technologies including Chromebooks, 3D printing, scientific probeware, 3D video cameras and software, and GPS technologies.

The eMINTS SEED project encompasses 50 districts in Missouri and Kansas. When completed, the project will have impacted nearly 400 teachers and more than 26,000 students over the next five years.
