Elementary Tech

During the course of this school year, Technology Director Kim Dayhoff and certified staff identified a need to update their technology devices at Marais des Cygnes Valley Elementary School. Devices were beginning to show their age and are having issues with updates on operating systems and device applications. In response to this need, the district took the step to apply for a grant through the Walter S. and Evan C. Jones Testamentary Trust to fund a full upgrade on devices for all grades at the building.

Last week, USD 456 received this notification:

"It is our pleasure to advise you that the Trustee for the Walter S. and Evan C. Jones Testamentary Trust has awarded a grant in the amount of $25,470.00 to USD 456 - Marais des Cygnes Valley. This one-year grant was made in support of the Elementary Technology 1:1 Initiative."

We are very excited to be awarded this grant and for the opportunity it brings to our students! With this grant, our students will be able to utilize up-to-date technology that will allow our teachers to provide a cutting edge education and benefit from a wide variety of resources. Additionally, this technology will prove to be incredibly important as learning for the foreseeable future will need to be sustained through both in-person and distance learning.

Congratulations to the students and staff at Marais des Cygnes Valley Elementary School!
