Hi, my name is Karen Phelon, and I am the Family and Consumer Science instructor at Marais des Cygnes Valley High School. This is my third year to share the position with Brenda Snyder. I teach on Blue days and I teach Career & Life Planning/Lifetime Foods and Intro to FACS. I am also the FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) Advisor.
I received my B.S.Ed. in Home Economics, now known as Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS), from Pittsburg State University.
I am married to Raylen Phelon, and we have three children Ashley (22),who attends Wichita State University for nursing, Adam (20), who attends Kansas State University, and Emily (16) who is a Junior at Marais des Cygnes Valley. We live on a farm outside of Melvern, where we raise crops and cattle.
In my free time I enjoy reading, scrap booking, and spending time with my family
