Team competes in annual tournament
January 03, 2008
An MdCV Scholars team participated in the 2007-08 Quest academic
competition on December 1 at Washburn University. The contest
allows teams of high school students from across the state to
compete against one another in answering questions on topics such
as history, government, art, literature, math, and science.
Teams from approximately 100 Kansas high schools in 1A though 6A
classifications annually participate in the Quest "Super Saturday"
competition. They take identical examinations, and only the teams
with the top 16 scores advance to the finals. The
single-elimination tournament is then televised on KTWU from
February through May, when the championship team will be named.
Quest, which was formerly known as High Q, is approved by the Kansas State High School Activities Association. The event is co-sponsored by KTWU-PBS station and Washburn University. No entry fee is required to compete.
The final 16 high schools that qualified for the 2007-08 televised Quest event are listed on the website found at the end of this article
