Meet Maureen Warner
By Maureen Warner
I was born in Elmira, New York where I lived with my family until we moved to Connecticut when I was ten years old. I grew up in Connecticut in a town located about 50 miles from New York City. I received a BS degree in elementary education from Southern Connecticut State University in 1980. I have been teaching for 29 years, although it does not seem that long. My career has taken me throughout the United States and Japan!
I met my husband, Russ when I returned from an overseas teaching assignment. We have two children, Mary who is a freshman at MdCV and Frank who is in second grade. I have been teaching at MdCV for eight years. I am currently the Reading Recovery teacher and work primarily with the first graders. I am also involved with the elementary reading and math groups. I enjoy reading, cooking and spending time with my family when I am not working.
