Meet Peggy Burkdoll

My name is Peggy Mahar Burkdoll. I was born in Eureka , Kansas and went to Kindergarten there. We moved to Waverly the summer after my Kindergarten year and I finished my education at Waverly. I have two older sisters, Jackie lives in Waverly and Patty and Ed live in New Strawn. I am married to Dave Burkdoll. We lived in Emporia while I was going to school but moved back to Melvern to raise our family. We have three sons. Jeff and Stacy live in Emporia . Aaron, Jenn, Sean, and Daysha live in Cottonwood Falls . Dan is living in Manhattan . I attended Emporia State University to receive my Bachelor of Education degree. I substitute taught for 2 ½ years after graduating from college. I began teaching Kindergarten at Marais des Cygnes Valley in 1983. I taught Kindergarten for 10 years. I taught 3rd grade for 7 years. I taught 2nd grade for 7 years and I am currently in my first year of teaching 4th grade at Marais des Cygnes Valley . After the boys left home, I began working part time at Beto Junction Travel Plaza . I work several evenings and at least one day over the weekend. When I am not working, I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family. My husband and I really enjoy being grandparents!!
