Let's Talk-About ...

or if you know some news
we'll listen
just share it
sports

realistic fiction

you name it
just say it
we'll
talk-about
It

Ten groups. Roughly eight to nine students per group. Within each group, members are encouraged to discuss something that they have read -- an article, a book, a poem -- and share it during the 20-minute period before lunch.

The challenge: be the group that accumulates the most points and earn a pizza party. Points may be earned four ways: (1) active participation in group discussion, (2) AR quizzes, (3) posting reviews on the school website (see High School: Talk-About), (4) responding to reviews by using the "Reader Response" feedback located in the Talk-About section of the school website.

Teachers serve as captains of each group. The names of the groups are as follows:
Team Rice - Motley Crew
Team Beatty - the Pizza Partiers
Team Kewley - Kewbecrusphi-Dengooreephi-Buswag
Team Burkdoll - B's
Team Douglas - Team Awesome
Team Puckett - Bookworms
Team Vanderpool - Dreamreaders
Team Thurston - No Namers
Team Rapp - Rappers
Team Phelon - Talkabouters
