Technology updates and upgrades for 2009-2010
By Kim Dayhoff
Technology facilitator, Kim Dayhoff, reported the following technology updates at a teacher inservice meeting.
At the end of last year, the district purchased a total of 11 Promethean Interactive Whiteboards. One for each of the elementary classrooms and 2 portable boards for the Melvern building. These interactive boards allows both the teacher and students to "interact" with anything that is projected or "drawn" onto the board. For example, the student can draw triangles, rotate them, move them around, along with measuring the sides of the triangles for a math activity.
All classrooms in the district have LCD projectors that are mounted in the ceilings. This allows teachers and students to present information from a computer to the entire class.
