School library catalog is available online
Students, staff, and parents may now access the school library catalog by logging on to the following web address: http://quenemolibrary.usd456.org
This web-based resource will give users access to the library collections at both Melvern and Quenemo schools. By clicking on the catalog tab, they can search by keyword, title, author, subject, or series. A "Visual Search" option on the left hand side of the screen is also available to aid very young readers who may have difficulty typing words in the search box.
A successful search will yield information regarding the type of book, such as early reader/picture books, labeled as [E], fiction or chapter books [F], biography [B], or non-fiction, which is identified with a numerical call number -- also Accelerated Reader level and points. The "Details" button will provide even more information about the book's content, and "See All" will indicate where the book is located. Upon request, books may be loaned between the two schools.
September is designated as Library Card Sign-up Month. If anyone would like to register for a Kansas Library Card, you may contact the school librarian. The card gives the holder access to Homework Kansas and databases for school or geneology research. See http://www.kslc.org for more explanation.
