America's Biggest Bedtime Story

by Ruby Garard

November 19, 2007

November 13, National Young Readers Day

On November 13, students viewed America’s Biggest Bedtime Story. John Lithgow read The Remarkable Farkle McBride for a webcast for students to enjoy. Students at MdCV Elementary wore pajamas to school to celebrate National Young Readers Dad and America’s Biggest Bedtime Story. Seventeen students came to either Quenemo or Melvern to view the story after school. Twenty-eight students viewed the story at their home or a different location.

The next day, many of the students who watched the webcast logged on to the website and answered simple questions about the book. The students received a certificate of participation for their involvement in America’s Biggest Bedtime Story sponsored by the Pizza Hut. Thank you to all the parents that helped make America’s Biggest Bedtime Story a success.

One hundred percent of the elementary students met their October reading goal. They enjoyed a trip to Pomona Lake Playground to celebrate.
