FFA chapter begins new year

The Marais des Cygnes Valley FFA started their 2007-2008 year on August 30 by having the yearly chapter Luau. At the Luau, they invited any person in high school who is interested in joining FFA this coming year. They had each class bring hot dogs, soda, buns or chips, and they grilled out at Melvern Lake. While waiting for the food to be ready, the chapter played sand volleyball and swam in the lake.
On September 19 they had their yearly highway cleanup. The FFA chapter met at the school and headed down Highway 31 at about 6:15 p.m. They had on their orange vests and held their blue trashbags and got to business. Afterwards, to reward them for their successful highway cleanup, they had "FFA Fun Night." They played volleyball and sat around and ate lots of snack foods.
The Marais des Cygnes Valley FFA chapter is off to a great start! They plan on having a fun-filled year. Some of the upcoming events are fruit sales, their yearly fundraiser; the National FFA convention in Indianapolis, Indiana; and the FFA haunted house.
