Superintendent Vannocker reported on summer projects. The central air for the upper floor at the Melvern School is completed. The new roof to be placed over the hallway leading from the main building to the preschool at Quenemo is progressing. New lighting has been placed in the science, business, agriculture, and weight rooms.

The board approved lettering, with the school district's name to be placed on the front of the Melvern Attendance Center. Acme Sign Company will be placing the lettering.

Superintendent Vannocker presented the bids for a new truck for the district. The board approved the purchase of a 2007 V8 Chevrolet truck from Osage Buick Chevrolet, which was the lowest bid.

The board also approved the purchase of 30 laptop computers from Dell, not to exceed $30,864.60.

The 2007-2008 budget as published on July 19, 2007 in the Osage County Herald-Chronicle was approved.

Board President Phelon volunteered to be the Three Lakes Representative Alternate for our district.

Updated Acceptable Use Policy for Technology/Internet/Electronic Resources and a new Anti-Bullying Policy were approved as presented by Principal Burkdoll. An updated handbook for the junior and senior high school was also approved.
