by Jessica Snider

April 26, 2007

All students attending USD #456 MdCV may participate in education programs and activities, including but not limited to health, physical education, music, vocational and technical education, regardless of race, color, national origin, age, handicap, or sex.  USD #456 will provide an appropriate education to all school-aged children.  It is the policy of the Board of Education to provide an appropriate public education to each handicapped student within its jurisdiction, regardless of nature and/or severity of the handicap.  It is the intent of the district to ensure that students who are handicapped within the definition os Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 are identified, evaluated and provided with appropriate educational services.  Students may be handicapped under this policy even though they do not require services pursuant to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
