Elemntary Christmas Concert Review

by Jessica Snider

December 12, 2006

The Elementary Christmas Concert on December 11, 2006 was a huge success.  The students all looked very nice and sang beautifully.  The preschool opened the concert with a short skit and the Reindeer Hokie Pokie.  The kindergarten enjoyed singing “I Can’t Spell Hippopotamus”.  The first graders enjoyed singing about Santa’s big helper, “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer”.  The second graders picked up the second verse to “Jingle Bells” very quickly.  “We Wish you a Merry Christmas” was sung by the third grade and included American Sign Language.   The fourth graders enjoyed working on a two-part arrangement of “Ding Ding!   Merrily on High!”.  The fifth graders had their first band concert of their lives!  They were so nervous but very excited at the same time.

We had a great turn out as there was standing room only.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support the students of MdCV.  A very special thank you, also, to Santa for taking time out of his busy schedule to come visit with our students.  I am sure the students enjoyed getting to tell him what they want for Christmas.
