Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)

August 28, 2006

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and social issues through family and consumer sciences education. The organization has more than 220,000 members and approximately 7,500 advisors from 50 state associations and the District of Colombia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Since its founding in 1945, more than ten million students have participated in FCCLA.

FCCLA is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. It is the only national in-school organization with the family as its central focus. Participation in national programs and chapter activities helps members become strong leaders in families, careers, and communities.
